I am so glad to finally be done with this painting. It seemed to take me forever!
This is another one I did in my painting class. The assignment was to go see a play, (The House of Bernarda Alba) and to make a painting based upon one of the characters in the story. I wasn’t [...]

The House of Bernarda Alba
1983
A few weeks back my dad started going through all our old family albums, and paying my sister and I to start scanning the photos. I absolutely love looking at all the really old pictures.
There are not many photos from when I was a small baby, but here are a few of my favorites.
Noe’s Wedding
This evening Russ and I attended our friend Noe’s wedding. It happened indoors, so my pictures turned out pretty crappy. Russ got some pictures of me all dressed up though before we went in.
I must say, I wish I had more reasons to get dressed up.
Painting Assignment: Monochrome Painting
For the most recent painting assignment I completed we had to bring in an object that was meaningfull to us, and paint it in a monochromatic scheme. The first object that came to mind was this troll doll. This was my mom’s when she was a little girl, and she passed it down to me.
Drawing Class: Portraits
This week in my drawing class we started working on portraits. My teacher printed out a bunch of images of “heroes” and we were allowed to choose from the selection. I chose Frank Zappa.
Painting Practice
Lately I have been doing small projects at home to practice painting from real objects. A few nights ago I painted this bell pepper. I accidently ate it without thinking before I could put the finishing touches on it, but it was mostly done.
Design Project: Mondrian
Our most recent project in my Design class was to work with balance, and create a Mondrian inspired image.
Painting Assignment 2: White Objects
I just put the finishing touches on the piece I had been working on in class last week. My teacher brought in several different white objects and assigned us certain set ups based on what she thought would challenge us all individually.
I can’t wait until next week when we can actually start using color in [...]
Film Stuff
I forgot to mention in my last post that the movie I starred in a few months back was screened at the Palm Film Festival. A Canadian distribution company saw it and is interested in distributing it. Unfortunately there isn’t a trailer for it online yet (I need to talk to them about that!).
However next [...]
Painting Assignment 1: White Object
I have been so incredibly busy with school, I have hardly had a chance to get on the computer to do much more than homework! I have such a busy schedule, I go to school from Monday to Thursday from 9 to 4 everyday. Then I get home and have to do homework. I can’t [...]
Design Project: Lines FINISHED!
My weekend has been spent working on this design project, and another one based on shape. I finally finished this one though.
Design Project: Lines
Since being in school I have had very little time to cook, or do anything unrelated to school. Because of this, I know the blog has been a bit dull lately. I decided this morning in order to keep it updated regularly I will start posting more about school, and what I am working on. [...]
The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics
In my design class we have been doing a lot of projects with line qualities. Today while we were working my teacher showed us this little video, which I absolutely love!
Roddy and Kyle’s Wedding
This weekend was my brother’s wedding. He and Kyle have been together for four years, and are just the most perfectly matched couple you could ever come across. They had their wedding in New Hampshire, where Kyle went to school, and they are planning on living. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and a whole lot [...]
Music for us Outlaws
I made this mix earlier for my friend Ashlee, who I share a blog with. We hadn’t used it much, but recently decided to get it going again. Not much there right now, and it probably won’t appeal to anyone but us. It is going to be like one of those notebooks girls passed around [...]
